Frequently Asked Questions

What variables can I use in template mode?

{name} inserts the original filename without extension. {index} inserts the sequential number with padding. {date} inserts today's date in YYYY-MM-DD format. Example: {name}_{date}_{index} produces 'photo_2024-01-15_001.webp'.

How does the padding work?

Padding adds leading zeros to index numbers. With padding of 3, numbers appear as 001, 002, 003. With padding of 4, they appear as 0001, 0002, 0003. This ensures proper alphabetical sorting.

Can I start numbering from a different number?

Yes! Use the 'Start Index' option to begin from any number. Useful when adding to an existing set of numbered files.

What if files have the same resulting name?

Our tool automatically ensures unique names by using index numbers. Even with suffix mode, files are numbered if needed to prevent duplicates.
